Laura Parker Laura Parker has performed in New York with Dicapo Opera Theatre, Beth Morrison Productions, New York Lyric Opera Theatre, and Liederkranz Opera. She has also performed at the Castleton Festival in Virginia. In Laura’s home state of California, she sang with Lyric Opera San Diego, Los Angeles Opera, and Long Beach Opera. Known for her work with contemporary repertoire, she performed leading roles in Thomas Adès’ Powder Her Face in collaboration with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Philip Glass’ Galileo Galilei, the west coast premiere of Lowell Liebermann’s Miss Lonelyhearts, and the world premiere of Thomas Pasatieri‘s God Bless Us Every One. Laura also specializes in operatic improvisation including numerous performances with OperaWorks for the Classical Singer National Conventions, Opera America, and the Hollywood Ford Amphitheater. She has also performed with Second City Improvisation of Los Angeles. She holds vocal performance degrees from Boston University (BM) and the University of Southern California (MM).
